When it Rains it Rains!

May 27, 2013

Hey Everyone and Family,  This last week was good, a lot of rain and mud, and a lot of FMs which were nice, got eat a lot which is fine by me :) Zone Conference was Great President Roggia helped us understand things that will help us become the man we need to become and how we can become a better missionary.   We learned a lot and it was good, Cant wait for President Kirkham  it will be good to have our president in the same country always, that will help  things here progress. No Baptisms but no biggie, this week we will have some.   We've got some great investigators, just waiting till they feel they are ready for Baptisms. Yes it is Rainy Season here and when it rains it RAINS!  Ha,  I love the rain, so its nice and enjoyable.    Getting chilli and then you look at the thermometer and its says 75F,  haha,  its nice.  I love the weather its rained a lot today.   We are working with 15 investigators,  we can have more but we keep it small so that we are able to see everyone during the week. Glad Ivy had a Great day that's awesome.  So I am Getting a new companion his name is Elder Osayi he was Elder Zauggs Trainer and now I will be junior companion with him.   I am excited and ready to learn and grow a lot.  Elder Elliott leaves tomorrow so the people are cooking a lot for us today should be great to gain more this week than what is being lost.   Glad that things are going good at home, you should get some pics of deer and elk for me that would be sweet and the mountains :) :) I would love that!!! I wouldn' t mind a Liahona with General Conference in it either :) just an idea.   Oh geez things are sweet in this marvelous work.   When you feel that desire to serve and you do,  you will be Blessed.   I'm Grateful for all those who are leaving for missions they will enjoy Plenty things, it will be hard but enjoyable also.   I hope you all have a great week and you all try your Very best to Follow Jesus Christ, Love Being a Servant of the Lord for the time that I have, love you family and everyone else, Love Elder Erickson.

My First Dead Body!

May 20, 2013

Hey Everyone,  this week has been exciting no baptisms but I'm fine with that, the thing I focus on here is, No conversion No Baptism , Know conversion Know baptism.   If I go and baptize 100 people and they aren't truly converted than they fall away.  That is my fault and I don't want to be blamed for those souls that could have been saved through time.  We have at least 5 people prepared for Baptism this week and they have grown so much they have gone to church every Sunday now and they beg us to get them baptized right now,  but we have to follow protocol  and what our Mission president has told us to do. We had district conference on Sunday it was amazing to see how many people were there and how big the Church Really is here in Liberia.  Its so amazing,  we will have Zone Conference tomorrow.  Today we are just planning on Football with everyone else it should be fun. Well I found out that there are gays here in Liberia  this week,  it was so awkward I never want to be in that situation again.  We totally came around the corner and there were like 10 gays all there and than they noticed us, than kept asking us weird stuff.   Um so we kinda ran really fast.   I hate the world! Even though we live in it and somethings are Beautiful,  somethings are far from Beautiful.  Saw my first dead person Saturday,  it was terrible but everyone said to get used to it it happens everyday people get hit by cars and stuff.   I don't  know if you wanted to know that but other than that,  my week was great just have a lot of promising investigators.  I'm excited to see how much more they grow. Ivy, Happy Early Birthday I hope you have a great day, your taking one more step in life enjoy it, I love you. I love Everyone else and hope you all have a Great week, Love Elder Erickson, LIB is the best place in the world!!!!!!!

Thanks for the Emai.   I'm grateful for my Phone call last night it totally made me happier and has given me even more drive to get the work done here in Liberia.  I had a great week we made a lot of progress on our Brothers and Sisters. They are growing and improving and its so sweet to see them change their lives, and the many miracles that happen.
Elder Erickson and Elder Elliot reading their mail!
I love to see them smiling,  it makes me smile and brightens my day. I try all I can to help them feel the Happiness that I feel in this life and as a member of the True Church! The One and ONLY.  The other day we taught a young man, missionary age, who had a dream, an angel came to him in this dream and told him that he should search no more for the Word of God is here.   So in this Dream Two Men Who he described as god our Father and his Son the only Begotten Jesus Christ, a placed a Crown on his Head then they told him all is well Randolf,  all is well.   I have never seen an African man Cry until he told us this and it Really Brought me to tears,  Tears of Joy and compassion For our Dear Brother.   We interpreted his dream the best we could and with the Spirit told him that we have the Message he has searched his Whole life for and its Going to make him happy.   That he will be crowned like he was in his dream, he will have the Priesthood the power of God and he will do amazing things.   He will be in Gods Kingdom to live with Peace and happiness forever and all Eternity.  There were other things we told him but that's for him to hear sorry.

I was so tired after that lesson I have never used so much energy just talking to someone.  We see miracles every day we Just got to open our Eyes to see them and the Love that God Really has for us.  He helps every day, even in challenges he throws at us if we seek with a sincere heart it will be given to us.  I love you all and your testimonies, I know that this church is True that God Loves me and Loves you.   God Be with you all Love,  Elder Erickson.  Have a Great week and Remember who you are and Stand in Holy Places CTR!

Sweet Week!

May 6, 2013

My week was sweet, all our hard work payed off with one of our investigators.  She was able to make that first critical step towards our Father in Heaven.  My companion and I had a great week over coming challenges and reaching goals.   I love this mission so Flipin much,  I wouldn't trade it for anything in this world.   It has been really rainy this week.   Today, we have a big soccer game with a semi pro team here in Liberia.   I'm super excited to play and relieve stress,  it should be really fun.  I feel like a Liberian already and its really cool to me.  The only thing I thought about this week was the temple and the Beaver Mountains :) um yeah,  I miss them both a lot but its alright they will be there when  I get home.    I have been talking to Robbie Gurr a lot he leaves in two transfers I'm excited for him.  My Attributes have been hard and easy and will be for the rest of my life but with obedience it will change me to something new.   I don't care whats  in the package probably some more rips those didn't last longer than 5 mins.  On May 12 I think I will be calling in the evening so it will probably be in the afternoon for you or mid day,  idk really just keep your phone close and try for good signal :-).   I am glad that Ethan and Bens days were sweet I'm proud of both of them and they will be in my prayers.   I want to thank everyone for their testimonies and prayers they have strengthened me huge.  This mission is really hard but its worth it to be here.   I got to go hope you all have a great week.  I wanna know what Dyllan and Jason have been up to I haven't heard from them in a while,   hope things are going good for them.  So we had an earth quake here two days ago not big but really sketchy.   I'm worried about a tsunami hitting the ocean.   My comp is doing great and I'm grateful for him.   One more month till I become trainer or junior comp.   I'm excited things are going by so fast, well now I really got to go,   Love you all, Elder Logan Erickson.

P.S. the Church is TRUE :)
