Simply this week has been great and exciting!

July 28, 2014

YAHELLO
Hey everyone, This week simply has been great and exciting. We have contacted new Investigators, a Part member Family has given us a Referral, one of their Daughters, Sister Jacquelin Dennis, She is incredible, very smart and Intelligent. She is a great Golden Investigator, She is super excited to Be baptized, and to become a member of the Church.  The Martin family came to Church, its so great he has got a job now in Point 4, so that he can get money to purchase a Marriage certificate, just so he can baptize, He is Truly converted, and his love for the Gospel is crazy. Ester came to church as well, she is also in love with the Church, she brought her two children and her boyfriend Benedict, who is different from our Recent convert Benedict . He stayed home from an head Cold, which happens often in Rainy season for most Liberians.   For them they are planning a week so they can go to Maryland a the very southern most part of Liberia, to show face to the family that they want to Get Married and to get approval. We are working with some awesome member Referrals, which are the best way to find and teach people the Gospel. It has rained most of this week, lots of mud again, but the its worth the sacrifice and adds to the Experience.  I am grateful however for paved roads, they are so nice and dang, if we had some in our area!  We have been able to work harder this week and to achieve much as a Companionship, I am glad that this transfer I get to be with Elder Pearmain again. A Great example of Christ like Love, and Devotion to Mission service. We have started a New workout, we call it the NEPHI workout, because he was Big in Stature ;) we are working on that, with some small improvement....... we haven't had any baptisms lately, just always conducting them and making sure other baptismal services for the other missionaries go great.  Yeah on the 26th of July is LIBERIAs Independence Day  so not many people will be  taught just a lot of food consumed and runny tummy :)..... so that's exciting for this week, Beaver sounds fun.  Glad you all enjoyed being there, hope the next renters treat the house good too, Accountability to others.  Well today we might try and Go fishing we will see, maybe we will just go sleep, I get to wash clothes by hand and also clean the house, well that's it for this week. The lesson I learned this week is very true," that this time I have spent here and will spend here will be the best investment in my life more than a sacrifice and truly the Experience that will and has forever changed my life.  Love you all the Church is True!!!!!!! Found some Golden Investigators

July 14, 2014

Hey guys, this week was great we had some great things happen, first of all Transfer news: and I am staying with Elder Pearmain for 7 weeks until the next transfer than for sure I think I will be leaving or he will. But till than we have got some new awesome GOLDEN investigators, God has trusted us still and we have got two couples working towards a marriage certificate and ultimately baptism. They want to receive a Remission of sins so bad, that they are changing many things, so they can show the lord that they are Repenting and changing for Progression. If we want to Improve in life we also have to change, no change no Improvement. Also another woman came to church with our Invitation, of course she didn't need one, but she came, and the Spirit touched her heart enough that she really wants to become a member of the Lords Church. One couple the Martins, I love them like crazy!!!!! b\Brother Martin has 4 sons and his girlfriend, they only need to get a marriage certificate.   They have done the traditional marriage but no proof, so they need the certificate to show its legal.  I hope with in these 7 weeks things will get done for them to be baptized, our fist lesson we took Benedict  our recent Convert with us, and really He blew my mind, he teaches better than most missionaries, and he hasn't gone to the MTC.. he is great.   The spirit resides so strongly in him. He is an absolute Spiritual giant. I know now why my companion and I have been called to serve in this area, it has been trampled over with many missionaries, but we are just finding people left and right and they are all prepared to receive and to live the Gospel. In missionary terms we have found a Gold deposit, Golden Investigators. the other Couple, Benedict and Ester  came to church for the first time and they loved it.   They have been to many churches, but the Church of Jesus Christ is the only one they feel a sincere love from God in, and also they learned more about Christ on Sunday than they have ever thought possible. They are learning to trust each other, but they are showing this through their obedience to the Gospel and Commitments we extend to them, True and Faithful is what they can and will become if they have faith in our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.  We also had a sweet service project cutting grass at a recent converts house, tallest grass I have ever set eyes on in my life, like a jungle, it was fun though.  We had Zone meeting on Tuesday, we were able to train and to help our Zone see where we need improvement and determination. It was great and I have learned so much being a Zone leader, and to help be a influence for good and Righteousness.  Well the rain has been off and on, lots of mud, I need to get a photo of our road its so messy and destroyed.  Best way to fix a dirt Road in liberia, well put more dirt on it :) haha its great. No baptisms, we don't have any planned for this month but many in August. Sounds like the week was slow at home, poor Benton I'm sorry, pipe will build muscle though so at least you are working. Yeah I don't know why but I feel like I have changed so much these last 4 weeks.   I am looking at things in a newer way and picking things out even more. I have been reading the Old Testament, this look over cannon of Scripture is great, I am in love and eating the Word of Christ and the Prophets of OLD. I am Gaining a new understanding Of Jesus Christ and who he really was. Well today we are going to go play Futball, should be fun. Love you all have a great week and remember who side you are on, the lords or the opposition against GOD. love Elder Erickson

The Heavens Have Been Releasing Torrents of Rain!

July 7, 2014
Yeah Hello Everyone
So this week was really quite busy and really I kinda went crazy. Our last P-day was great we had fun enjoying the small sun that we could, until it was covered by storm clouds. The Heavens have been releasing torrents of rain and it has really made traveling in the mission difficult, as I am sure you can see from the Photos, On Tuesday we went to go get my companions toe fixed but we ended up not going cause the Doctor wasn't there, so instead we went and did some stuff with the Assistants at the Mission office, and than made our way home in a Demolition derby on the Road.  Which in a real sense it is, its funny to see how Liberians react to all this water and driving on a super small road with many cars on it. Sister Berrett is a great Driver, she, I think learned how to drive stick from Elder Berrett.  Wednesday we had mission council that took forever.  It was great to see the plans that President wants to do this coming transfer and also what the Lord has reveled to him to help us in our callings as missionaries.  We had small interview with President Kirkham after to discuss some things in our Zone...... than my companion and I went to go get a Taxi at broad street and looked at traffic and decided we could get to where we needed just by walking.  We did go faster than traffic anyways. We walked 5 to 6 miles to a place called Bong Mines Bridge in Brand new Boots, the last mile getting to Bong Mine Bridge was not easy we had blisters on our feet like crazy and I was walking on parts of my feet I never thought I would walk on, we finally got to the Apartment and our feet were hurting to go out for the remaining hour to teach... Thursday we went back into Town to ELWA hospital, and finally got my companions toe Fixed YAY, I think it was so exciting that even the Angels sang in heaven, but all is well with Elder Pearmian and his better looking Toe :)... Friday we didn't go out cause his toe had to heal its self and he couldn't walk on it plenty, so he lie

in his bed, I tried to find productive things to do! Saturday it rained ALL day long, that's the photo of the Berretts and us standing in the water, that was inside our compound and the water was coming to the porch step, we were barely able to go out and teach MAMA our recent convert, wow it was great to teach some one, dang it just felt so good, like that Goodfeeling song I forgot who sings it think FLORida, oh well yeah JOY beyond comprehension. Sunday President Kofa took us in his car through the Muddy road to get to Church, so my companion didn't have to walk through it, that was nice,.  We were able to teach another Recent convert about serving others and why we do this thing called Service. we also contacted two Referrals who were brought to Church by some members, that's my week for a recap! not to exciting not to full of a whole lot, but i know I learned some great lessons from this week, and I Know for fact that my Patience has been strengthened greatly, which I really needed. MOM HAPPY BIRTHDAY this Week I LOVE YOU!!!!!!! and the best way I can show my love to you right now is by loving others and giving them the love, you have taught me to have for the SAVIOR. I hope you all have a great week and that God will bless you all so much. I love You all, Love Elder Erickson

Happy Fourth of July!

June 30, 2014

Hey Everyone
Hey how are you guys? Sounds like OK went well, I am jealous you have gotten to see Anna, geez that's so sweet I hope you all enjoyed, and I know that you did.   So I dont forget to put it in later, HAPPY 4TH of JULY, dont blow your selves up...... Benton........ anyways this week went well  it was a busy week.   Which was just preparing me for this week which is full of meetings, my companion and I will go to the hospital tomorrow  so he can get his ingrown toe fixed, it looks awful.  Sure hope his mother doesn't read this!  I told Elder Pearmain to call about it, but we ended up being called about it and  now things will get figured out for him.... We had a great week none the less.   I went to the dentist on tuesday and yeah the first dentist I went to on mission was not easy, but with God and his good will, we were able to find the best dentist, I would have to say in Liberia.   He did an excellent Job.   I felt like I was in America,  yeah I had a narly cavity, it sucked haha but we were able to get that fixed.   I thank the ELWA hospital for their talent and dedication...  So USA should have beat Germany, I was disappointed.  That's what happens when you get on your heels they need to keep on their Toes and they will do great things.  Thank goodness for the new US soccer Coach who is German and knows how to play Football.. So yeah I keep tabs on world cup my best, but not to much to get distracted from my purpose here in Liberia..  Benedict was baptized, Wow saturday was great,  he ended up coming right when we started cause he had been washing his clothing, he ran 2 miles from his home to make it for the baptism, it was magical.   The spirit was there in his splendor.  He was so happy, and he looks very confident in his opportunity to Follow Christ, his excitement was super.   After he was able to receive the Holy Ghost he just looked like he was in a happy place... I went on Exchange with two Elders this week Elder Aygei from Ghana Kumasi, and Elder Gunnell from Mesa Arizona, wow both excelent missionaries and I learned much from both of them. I love going with newer missionaries, yes they are new but they are so full of the Spirit and I love seeing it and feeling it, and to learn much needed principles. Well mission is sweet and I am loving my area, we are going to focus on a new area we havent been in yet and I am excited to see what happens, and I know God will direct us to those he has prepared to receive this great and powerful message of Gods Love for his Children.  Along with  all the happiness that he wants them to receive, That is his Work and His Glory.  Also what do you guys want me to add in more in emails or is this good or what? I want to know so I can be looking more closely in my service each day to see the hand of the Lord in it and to learn things I may be missing, than to share with you great things as well.   Well EBOLA country is sweet, actually its not bad all is well with that, all missionaries will be fine if they obey rules, thats the Key to success Obedience! Thanks guys,  I love you all and can wait to share my experiences with you next week Love Elder Erickson
