No Regrets!

January 26, 2015

Good Morning
The week was cool, Flew by super fast. Well Koffi went to Accra all week so we didn't get to see him, until last night, he also hurt his leg, so was unable to come to church. He is doing well though. Seth came to church and a Girl that our Bishop has been inviting with them she has been coming a while now, enough that she is eligible for baptism and we are planing on seeing her possibly on Wednesday. Also Claret, has come 3 times now. The week was good, Elder Zulu has been called as the District leader, I was released. Been a humbling week really and in a way I do not know why, but whatever it is I am overcoming it. Really been pushing my self to be the best I can this ending 5 weeks, time is coming to and end and I just don't want to look back and have any regrets, Mission is hard but I know it is better than wasting time at home and doing nothing that will benefit me. Mission is the best thing anyone can do I Know that the Prophet has asked all those who are worthy and able to go on a mission should go, always here people say mission is not for everyone sure, if you are not worthy and not able to accomplish the requirements than sure you are justified but if anyone who is able and worthy we should go. I love the council that Moroni gives us in the Book of Mormon Moroni 9:6 I do not want to be found one of those whom the Scripture speaks but I want to be a part of the Noble and great ones, Which we all have the ability to become. We make many decisions in life and everyone one of them will effect us in a positive way or negative way, especially when we stand before the creator and Finisher of our Faith. I love mission more than I love hunting fishing and the beautiful Mountains, When and If I am able to return to the Father I will not take any thing with me, only the things Spiritual, all temporal things will stay behind. well My beloved family I love you all, and I know in one way or another you are faithfully following our Savior in His Ways. I hope I don't offend that's not my intention, I only want to share my opinion in a few matters.   I love you all and the Examples you all have been to me, God will bless you much in your life here and into the Eternities. Hope you all have a great week Love always Elder Erickson

Transfer News!!!!!

January 19, 2015

Good morning
The week flew by. Transfer news has come and it looks like the sweet o Child of mine, Elder Zulu will be killing his father on mission. I am staying here in Nwamase. I am glad cause we have got some really good people progressing towards baptism. We are working with Koffi and his Girlfriend more to get them married so that they can both Baptize, I see the love of the savior in their lives, they so desperately want a remission of their sins. I am always thinking of them, even into the nights now and kinda is making me tired. I know the lord will provide for them, its not the easiest task but we manage. We got to meet a Referral- sister Claret from Nigeria, her Brother served a mission and Friend that Referred her to us. We had a powerful lesson with her, with the testimonies of two RMs, the spirit was intense, and not to mention she felt the spirit, as she couldn't stop smiling, and explaining that she feels so happy. We met another guy named Perry he has had some sort of experience from the Church, when he was younger and we are really working with that and getting him excited about our message. We found many new investigators this week and I can really see the Lord working through me, as I have strength beyond my own to do the walking and talking that I am doing now. Elder Zulu is having a fun time trying to keep up with his Old father haha, he though he would be dragging me around, not on the Lords time. Well I hope I can continue to do the Work I am doing, with all diligence till the end. Never was a Sacrifice Always is a Privileged to serve God, that is my view now when serving our Savior The Risen Lord Jesus the Christ. thank you for the Prayers everyone and the support. Mom I would be willing to talk the 8th and the 15th if I am able to see the Berretts on the 8th if not there is always time to see the most powerful Couple missionaries Ever. Oh so I will most likely be flying into cedar city. :) love you all, Elder Erickson

Had a Great Week!

January 12, 2015

Good Morning Family and Friends
We had a great week. Honestly it was the Most mentally challenging week, but also I have felt the Love of God in all the things that we were doing through out each day.  I would have to say so far these last weeks have been very spiritual, the most of my whole mission. We had several unexpected Miracles. We Found Some great Investigators, They all have desire to follow Christ. Seth is doing a fantastic Job.  February he will be Baptized for sure!!!! Also Koffie will be able to now, We have found a solution to his wedding problem, we are just going to get him a civil marriage, than he will pay the bride price at a later time. His Girl friend is really accepting our message, and it looks like they will take a swim in February. Also Ike, He is progressing so much, coming to church is hard cause he goes to take care of his mother early in the morning each Sunday. with some of the Things he shared he Loves his mother and That is a relationship he is grateful for, he says he believes the message we bring will help his Love for the savior go more beyond that of His mothers. Was good to see that Grandpa Holmes has the strength still to act like a Young man, with an Wise mans Body.  Zone conference went well, gained a deeper love of the Plan of Salvation, also Gained more fire to not live as a dead missionary these next 6 weeks but I will tell you, these are going to be the best 6 weeks of my life as a missionary. The spirit is so strongly deepened into my soul and I know as I keep doing what I have been ordained and set apart to do, the spirit will remain and miracles will happen right before my eyes. I want to thank the Foster Family for the Tie and Letters, really great motivation, I love the Tie and so do a lot of other People. We have been working with our leaders and have set the Goals for the Nwamase Ward this year. I am So excited really for these coming weeks, in  reality I am not ready to leave just yet.  It hasnt hit me yet either that in 7 sundays I will no longer Partake of the Blessed Emblems of the Sacrament anymore for a season in Africa, but at home with Family.  Mom and Dad please I ask thee that thou will please pray that I will have strength at the end of My days.  To have strength to write in my journal at nights, and to use my time wisely.  I love this Missionary work. The Work of The Lord is the Best!!!! Is the best way to Be happy and to make others Happy. One of the Biggest Things i have Learned on mission Quote: "Weaknesses become strengths, challenges become opportunities, Trials become Triumphs, and Adversity becomes an Adventure, in the Service of the Lord.Russell M. Ballard"..........This is why missionary work is Divine. Love You all. Elder Erickson
