Elder Myaka

At Christmas we got a phone call that had a African phone number on the caller id.  When we answered it we all thought WOW  Elder Erickson sure has aquired a thick african accent fast!  Then we realized that it was an former companion  Elder Myaka.    Elder Myaka has no family support since he joined the church and asked if he could write to us and us write to him since he goes to the internet cafe while his companions read and writes to family and has no one to write him or him to write.  We have thoroughly enjoyed getting his emails.  So I though I might as well add his emails to the blog.  You can somewhat get an idea of what it is like to serve as a native African.

hello mom i try to send you the mail last week but this frisky brother of mine gave me wrong mail lol,wow thank you for e mail am real happy to get a mail from you,the week was real great thank you our investigators there are all doing will but there don't want to come to church i thing it because of the distance that why we drop a lot of them and we went to an new area to create a new teaching pool there we fing great people looking forward to convert them.the new years eve here is boring i miss home we use to have a lot of fun but we slept early like chickens but the reason there don't have fire works is because the just war that why

sorry for a cold weather i hate it i like my town weather it so much friendly it not to hot or cold .to tell the truth i hated January when i was still at school lol but you all going to be strong,hey send my love to pa and the others

hello my mom,

thank you so much for your mail and that powerful quotes i real love them there have profound meaning to me.

well it great to here that you been out of town i hope you had a great time out there and it great also to here that elder Ericson brother went for tournament and he took third place that sweet just keep on training he will win one day.

for me this gone week was real great we lovely lessons and  we had members come to help us teach was real sweet.i hope you also find time to help elders in that side to tech? well am been out for one year and six moths out in my mission i am left  with six moths here to go home,ja for me i join church 2010 14 Feb.am the only member in my family who is this church and before i came on mission i lost my sister she was only 16 years it was real hard for me to join the church and also come on mission my family was a guest  it but i come thank GOD for it

to join i had to choose either the church or my family when i prayer the answer was church i love this church so much it changed my life for good,before i was a bad guy,i was involve in crime and drugs i been arrested number of times , when i join the church i had to be interview  by mission president that how bad man i was.

 but through the Atonement of Jesus Christ we can been cleans whatever wrong we have done,i know with my heart that he has forgiven me and forget all that sins am new again and am here to help us to change also that i spent one year as member than come to serve mission so that i can help others to know that He live and He loves us.

i love your son this week i been thinking of him and i text him he is real Dion well he is enjoin his area i told me that he don't want to leave lol. my new companion is great he is the frisky man like elder ericsoon me and him that how we call each other frisky lol.

well i had a great week this gone week,teaching inviting and i gave a powerful talk this gone week and it was a bout missionary work.we had a service as a zone  and i love service not because there create an opportunity to teach just because we went about doing good to others,we did it to a big less active family than after ward we sang a hymn with them ,there spirit was so strong and powerful there came to church was wonderful to see them happy and partake the sacrament.

mission is real sweet at this time,for me i had a very great week last week we had an interviews with President he is happy with me and the work am doing.well my best area was Sinkor is in central Monrovia i spend four trans fair with a South African companion was very sweet i have so much convert there and to much memories to remember.at moment am serving as a zone leader at
 gardersville are am with Elder Park my froth frisky American companion in a row well he is a great missionary but i don't think i will have a friend like your son he means the world to me,for me in appearance is white but inside is black i always tell him that he always happy just like me we both have a lot in common we like to joke and lough to we both frisky lol that us,i talk to him last night he is very happy doing great job.

thank you for your words there real remind me the love our Father He have for us and the plan of Happened it is one of my favored lesson here,it because it tells me i will see my sister and am scared when i go home i will miss her again cause it happens small before i left home.

well mom there is so much different between my county and here we are pity much as American back home we are tip cal Africans, we have nice restorers and beaches.we have all the food you have back there.
