Getting a new Son to train!

November 11, 2013

Ow Di Bodi Family and Friends
This week has been quite the roller coaster, many different and unexplainable things have happened, yes mom on the 7th was Liberias Thanksgiving.  So we have received transfer news again and my companion Elder Obeng-Poku is going to Logan Town and I am staying in Doe community, I am still training!  I will be training Elder Backman from Wyoming, he comes from the MTC on Wednesday and Thursday I will receive him into my arms :)  I am excited but it has been really hard getting 3 companion in 6 weeks not easy, but I have learned a lot from all of them.   I am excited to teach my new companion how to be an effective missionary, its not going to be easy and I am excited for it.   The Lord says he will shape us and refine us into his best tools for his work, I am honored to be a trainer again. This week sister Beatrice and Bro Steven came to church, wow it was great to see them early and on time.   This new week I am going to focus on finding more people to teach, mostly husbands and wives.  Its good to have a great teaching pool,  we have 27 investigators now after dropping people.   Its hard to do but they will receive the message when they are more prepared to hear it and ACT on it.  Thanks for the Email Dad,  I love getting them, I do see what you talked about here in the work, no baptisms for a little bit people just keep holding them selves back its tough to see but they need to wait till they are ready :) Today we are going to the beach to hangout, its sunny and partly cloudy but beautiful like always, its going to be weird coming home not seeing this beautiful country I love you all have a great week, listen to the Prophets voice always! love Elder Erickson

This picture and caption was found on the Berrettes blog,  A couple serving in Liberia with Elder Erickson,  They are great about posting pictures of Elder Erickson and keeping us updated through their blog.  http://berrettsinliberia.blogspot.com/
We love it when we can deliver packages and letters.  We are as excited to bring the mail as they are to get it!!  Wish you could have seen Elders Humpherys and Erickson jumping around when we handed them their packages.
These are valiant missionaries.  They all wash their clothes by hand and hang them outside to dry, bathe in cold water, and only have power from 7 to 10 pm when they turn their generators on. They walk or ride on the back of taxi motorcycles.  Yet they continue to smile and work hard.
We love "OUR" missionaries.
